ACME Group secures green ammonia and methanol offtake deals with IHI and Mitsubishi Gas Chemical
B910化工消息:7 Yue 4 Ri Xiao Xi, Indian renewable energy company ACME Group has announced offtake agreements with Japan's IHI Corporation and Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company (Mitsubishi Gas Chemical). Under the agreements, ACME will supply green ammonia to IHI and green methanol to Mitsubishi Gas Chemical.
Specifically, ACME will supply a total of 405,000 tonnes per year of green ammonia and 100,000 tonnes per year of green methanol. These green fuels will be produced by ACME's renewable energy hydrogen projects in India, utilizing solar and wind power for water electrolysis to produce hydrogen, which is then further processed into green ammonia and methanol.
The transaction represents an important milestone in green hydrogen cooperation between India and Japan. Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy have given high attention and support to the project. Japan views green fuels as a key pathway to achieving its carbon neutrality goals, while India is actively promoting domestic green hydrogen industry development through its National Green Hydrogen Mission.
Mitsubishi Gas Chemical is one of the world's leading methanol producers, and this green methanol offtake represents an important step in its transition toward sustainable chemicals. IHI is a major Japanese engineering and heavy industry company that has continued to invest in ammonia fuel technology R&D.
ACME Group is currently developing multiple green hydrogen projects across Gujarat and Rajasthan in India. The long-term offtake agreements with Japanese companies will provide stable revenue support for these projects, helping advance the commercialization of India's green hydrogen industry.
